Le Pain Quotidien
Quotidien 382 Greenwich Ave., Greenwich
203-404-7533; lepainquotidien.com
One of the city’s great standbys has made its way to Greenwich Avenue. Le Pain Quotidien, the eco-friendly Belgian patisserie and café chain, opened its doors on the avenue in early October. It stocks 10 high chairs, two massive reclaimed-wood communal tables for groups and a kid’s menu, which is always served with fruit, cookies and milk. Some
options please even the pickiest of little eaters: organic oatmeal and Belgian waffles
for breakfast, and tartines of ham and cheddar or turkey and Gruyère for lunch. Check the chalkboard for seasonal specials as well as daily soups. What’s more: Le Pain is open for dinner and is BYOB. The staff will cork your wine for free, or send you off on an
errand to the nearest wine shop, if you happen to show up empty-handed.
