Nutella and Banana Panini
Most grocery stores carry Nutella, and the Tessitores highly recommend the Kneaded Bread in Port Chester for bread.

¾ | cup Nutella |
8 | slices high-quality country white bread |
4 | small bananas, thinly sliced |
½ | stick salted butter, softened |
1 | cup freshly whipped cream for serving (optional) |
8 | large strawberries, sliced, for serving (optional) |
DIRECTIONS
- Spread Nutella on four slices of the bread. Top the Nutella with the banana. Place the other slices of bread on top. Spread butter on the exterior of each slice.
- Heat a large sauté pan over medium heat. Add two of the sandwiches and place a large can on top of each one to weigh it down (or cook on a panini press). Cook until crispy and golden brown on one side. Then, turn over, place the cans on top, and cook the other side until crispy and golden brown. Repeat with the remaining two sandwiches.
- Slice the sandwiches in half diagonally, and transfer to four plates. If you like, serve with whipped cream and strawberries.
