Grace Potter and
The Nocturnals
Grace Potter and The Nocturnals | Hollywood RecordsIf Janis Joplin, Jerry Garcia and Syd Barrett raised a kid, she’d grow up to sound like Grace Potter, especially on this eponymously titled third album (with her band The Nocturnals). While the ethereal single “Tiny Light” brushes hard against pop (helping her crossover from the jam band circuit to the MTV crowd), the Pink Floyd-like riffs backing “Oasis”; the gypsy blues beats of “Goodbye Kiss” and “Medicine”; and the salty-throated vocals on “Money” and “Paris (Ooh La La)” are rockers that could’ve killed the airwaves long before video killed the radio.
