Outpost Pizza
365 West Ave., Stamford,
203-323-7678; outpostpizza.com
Whether picking up dinner on your way home or calling in for fast delivery, Outpost Pizza is the answer. Owners and father-and-son team Tom and Joe Barlleci can trace their authentic family recipes to Tom’s mother, Lenna Barlleci, who raised her three sons in Calabria, Italy. With such a history, it’s no wonder the Barlleci’s have perfected their pies: a delicious balance of Grande Cheese (considered the king of cheeses), thin, airy crust and a sauce made from their closely guarded recipe. Though, you’ll find more than pizza here. Outpost offers fresh wraps, pasta and entrée dishes like chicken francese, veal marsala and eggplant rollatini, as well as a long list of salads. High-quality ingredients and reasonable prices allow for this spot to be part of your routine. A large cheese pizza comes in at $11. We recommend “Tommy’s Favorite” – a pizza with hot cherry
peppers, sausage, garlic and red onions.
