Summertime Sips
When it gets hot, nothing Quenches quite like natural Fruit juices. Here, Chef Rui Correia of Greenwich Portuguese spot Douro shares his sangria recipes, full of fruity flavor for the balmiest days.
{COCKTAIL}
Rosé Sangria
1 bottle (750 ml) rosé or white zinfandel
1 cup orange juice
½ cup triple sec
½ cup peach schnapps
2 tablespoons grenadine
2 cups lemon-lime soda (Sprite or 7UP work well)
Stir together, and for the best result, wait a day before serving. Pour over ice and garnish with fresh berries or an orange slice. Serves six to eight adults.
{MOCKTAIL}
Sangria Punch
4 cups orange juice
2 cups cranberry juice
2 tablespoons grenadine
2 cups lemon-lime soda
Stir together in a large pitcher and serve over ice. Garnish with fresh strawberries. Serves six to eight children and adults.
